This is Part 1 in the series “Upward”.

A big shout out and thank you to Pastor Grant and his wife Theunissina Neyt of the Christian Family Church, Durban North for inviting me to preach this message and for asking me to continue it for a few weeks. You are a great blessing and encouragement to us.

Do you need direction? We all need it! Today I will be sharing with you one of the greatest secrets to finding direction for your life which will help you in the future and secure your destiny.

At me writing this, mom has been in heaven for five months. I took her out on her 85th birthday and at the table I asked her to tell me something about Jesus. She looked at me for a few seconds and then said these profound words. “What was the first thing God SAID?…”Let there be light”, “even God can’t work in the dark”.

God no longer wants you to be living in the mere land of hope and in the darkness of uncertainty. God’s Word enlightens us – Psalm 119:130 “The entrance [unfolding] of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

God started the SAYING and He wants us to keep up the SAYING!

Our God is a God of order. He doesn’t want to keep us in the dark but wants to give you amazing direction in 2020.

Philippians 3:12-16 12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the UPWARD CALL of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; 16however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.

It’s important to know where you’re ‘heading’ but probably more important to know how you’re going to get there (what is the shortest route?)…with the least obstacles…using the least energy…suffering less setbacks…loss…pain…time.

God has a high or heavenly calling on all of our lives. Don’t settle for a lost and confused life. This message series will not only inspire you but give you practical guidance from God’s Word for your future.
